Y2 Seaside trip
Description
Year 2 Seaside Trip
Dear Parents/Carers,
To further our learning across the curriculum about seaside holidays and animal habitats, we have organised a trip to the seaside at Old Hunstanton.
Throughout the day, the children will get the opportunity to observe the beach and how it provides a habitat for animals, have an ice lolly, visit the Life Boat Station where they will get to look at the hover and boat, as well as receive a talk on water safety alongside paddling in the sea, building sandcastles and searching for seaside treasures (shells).
Details:
Date: Friday 19th June 2026
Timings: Please drop your child off at the KS1 building at 7:45am. We will aim to depart at 8am.
We will leave Old Hunstanton at 3:30pm, with an estimated return time of 6pm. Our journeys will include a service station stop.
Special clothing/items required
- Children should wear their normal school jumper/cardigan and t-shirt
- Comfortable footwear that is suitable for walking along the beach
- Comfortable trousers (.e.g. jogging bottoms) that can be rolled up to facilitate us going paddling
- Weather appropriate clothing to include a waterproof coat, sun hat and suncream (children will be able to reapply their suncream themselves if they bring it with them during the day)
- A towel for children to dry their feet after paddling
- A small bucket and spade
- A filled water bottle
- A small backpack for children to carry their belongings in
- If you would like to send your child with spare clothing then this can be done, however, children will be responsible for carrying any belongings that they take off the coach with them, and we will not have access to the coach throughout the day

This trip is to enhance our curriculum, and we are relying on parent contributions to enable the trip to take place. If insufficient contributions are received, then this trip will not go ahead.

Lunch Arrangements
Children will need a packed lunch for this trip. Hatton Catering can provide a packed lunch for free for all children but these must be requested online using the SchoolGrid system by midnight on Wednesday 10th June.
If your child already has a lunch option booked for the day of the trip this will be cancelled and you will need to rebook the packed lunch option available (eg soft roll / sandwich) via the SchoolGrid system by midnight on the previous Wednesday of the week it is required.
Alternatively, if you would like to provide a packed lunch from home this must be in a disposable carrier bag with a maximum of 2 drinks (no glass bottles and no fizzy drinks), healthy snacks only please and no nuts due to allergies.
Ice lolly choice and parent volunteers
Children also have a choice of the following two flavours of ice lolly to enjoy, to be selected before the trip:
- Orange ice lolly (vegetarian, lactose free, may contain milk, may contain nuts)
- Lemonade ice lolly (suitable for vegetarian and vegan diet, may contain nuts, does contain sulphur dioxide)
Please confirm your child's choice of ice lolly on this form. If there are any parents/carers who would like to volunteer to support our trip, please also indicate this on this form.
If you require further details regarding the dietary information for these ice lollies, please speak to your child’s class teacher.
Yours sincerely,
Miss Sparkes
Trip Leader
