Intent

Implementation

Impact

All EBPS curriculum

Our curriculum is driven by five overarching intent keys which we believe will unlock a successful future for the children at EBPS and equip them with the dispositions, skills and knowledge to fulfil their ambitions and enhance the world in which they live.

These can be summarised as:

-Values

-Horizons

-World

-Equity

-Love

We implement these keys through the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum, which is carefully and progressively sequenced, to ensure children’s prior learning is built upon and they recall key knowledge and skills toward an end goal in every discrete subject. We also implement our intent keys beyond the taught curriculum through the sense of life in our school and what is means to be a “Bartonian”.

The impact of our curriculum can be seen through: academic results in core subjects; the evidence in books and around school for other subjects and in the way our children act, behave and think throughout their time in EBPS.

By the time a child leaves us in Year 6, they should have achieved their potential and have a solid base from which to springboard the next phase of their education, as well as an aspirational ambition, knowing about the world and showing a deep respect for everyone and everything in it.
