Description

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are excited to let you know that Reception will be celebrating Superhero Day on Friday 23rd January!

This special day is inspired by the book we are currently reading in our Writing unit, Juniper Jupiter. The story has sparked lots of enthusiasm and creativity, and Superhero Day will give the children the opportunity to deepen their learning in a fun and engaging way.

On the day, the children will take part in a range of superhero-inspired activities, as well as learning about “real-life superheroes by exploring how everyday people help others.

To prepare for this day, we would love for families to get creative at home. Your child will be coming home with a superhero mask template. Please help your child decorate their mask and return it to school on Superhero Day. If you need any resources or materials to help decorate the masks, please let us know and we will be happy to assist.

Children are also welcome to come dressed as a superhero if they wish (this doesn’t need to be a purchased costume, but can be created using items they already own). Costumes are completely optional, and children can still participate fully if they choose to wear their normal school uniform. We will also be having a superhero inspired ‘Show and Tell’- if your child would like to bring in an item relating to superheroes (fictional or not) then they are welcome to.

We are really looking forward to a fun day. Thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards,
The EYFS team
