Y1 Parent phonics session

Dear Year 1 Parents/Carers,

We are very excited to invite you into school on Wednesday 25th November at 9am to see your child's Phonics learning in action and work with them in the classroom. Phonics is vital learning in school to support your child in their reading journey.

We will begin the morning with a short presentation in the hall explaining what you can expect to see in lessons, how we teach Phonics in our school and what you can do to support at home. There will also be the opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about your child's reading.

You will then be able to watch your child take part in a short part of their phonics lesson. We will aim to be finished around 9:30.

We completely understand that not everyone will be able to attend, so we’ll make sure key information is shared with all parents afterwards.

We hope to see lots of you there. Please come to the main entrance of the Dawn building after dropping your child into school.
