It has been a highly positive start to the new school year and we have been delighted with how the children have returned to the new academy year 2026-2027. Our new Reception children have already settled into school life at EBPS seamlessly; learning our school values and becoming a valued part of our school community.
Summer school improvement works
Over the summer, we had a new full catering kitchen installed in our school, giving us the ability to cook hot meals fresh on-site every day. This has now been completed and the first hot meals were served from the new serving hatch in the Key Stage Two / Beacon Building hall this week. Thanks to the Hatton Academies Trust Catering for their work on this and for the addition of this excellent facility to our school.
We look forward to hosting some parent tasting sessions very soon so that parents and carers can sample the delicious, freshly-cooked food the children can now enjoy every day!
This kitchen space is the former staffroom; our wonderful staff now have a lovely, new dedicated staffroom space in which to relax and enjoy a cuppa in peace and tranquillity! Special thanks to our friends at All Saints Church who regularly think of us throughout the year and kindly provide staffroom cakes, biscuits, treats and ice-creams for the staff here – always most appreciated!
Democracy in action!
Our children have been busy voting for their classmates who will be their advocates in the year ahead. Children have voted for their School Council representatives in Year One to Six and Year Six children and all staff have also voted for our House Captains and Vice captains for our House Teams (water, wind, earth and fire). Democracy is one of the fundamental British values we teach our children throughout the curriculum.
Governors
We are keen to recruit governors to our local governing body who bring a particular skillset in finance, HR, operations, marketing or any other non-educational field to help further enhance the work of the school. Our local governing body meet four times per year in-person at school during the evening and governors should also be able to commit to visiting school in-between meetings for a specific, agreed focus. If you are interested and able to commit to this, please do contact the school office.
