The anticipation of summer and some brighter weather is in the air as we head into the final term of this school year. There has already been lots to celebrate!
You may have seen our school featured on ITV Anglia News on Friday 5th May for our celebrations for the coronation of King Charles III. The children thoroughly enjoyed their day of celebrating, which followed on from prior learning in history. Across the school, every class was excited to play their part in some “living history” and the children learnt about British history, the royal family and also wrote about their hopes for the future of the reign of King Charles III which we have collated into a school book. A video clip of the news feature can be found on our website.
Year One children enjoyed a special treat on this day when they visited The Royal Room in Jeyes of Earls Barton as part of their learning. The children were treated like royalty and thoroughly enjoyed listening to stories and looking at all the royal memorabilia. Thank you to the Jeyes family for hosting this trip.
We were delighted with the number of people who visited and engaged with our pre-planning consultation regarding the new classrooms planned for our school. Thank you to everyone who came. The architect and project manager have listened to and read all feedback and are grateful for the thoughts and responses. In light of the feedback, they are looking at options to re-configure the car park layout to consider an alternative entrance / exit and updated details will be available soon as part of the planning application process.
Our talented children took to the stage of the Derngate Theatre for the Year Three and Four Strictly Schools competition involving 30+ schools from across the county. We were delighted with our team of dancers who came a very commendable fourth. The dancers truly showed all of our school values and represented our school superbly.
We are very much looking forward to our whole school Sports Day which is confirmed for Thursday 6th July and it will once again be held on Earls Barton Recreation Ground in the morning with all welcome! We are very grateful to the EB Parish Council for granting permission for this event to be held again following the success of last year. We are also very grateful to Wollaston Secondary school for providing their Young Leaders to support us with this event again.
Last term, we welcomed Northampton Wombles into school to lead assemblies regarding litter and the damage this causes to our environment and wildlife. Following this, a group of children have been very dedicated in voluntarily picking up litter from the school grounds during their lunchtime break. Thanks to Luke, Joshua and George H in Year Five for their hard work and well done for trying to improve our local community!
Finally, we do have some spaces in some year groups of our school so if you are looking for a school place for your child, please do contact the school office for arrange a personal tour.
