The new school year has started in earnest and it is wonderful to have a school filled with children again. We were delighted to welcome 60 new Reception children and their families into our school and hope they will enjoy being part of the EBPS community.
This year we have launched a new relationships and behaviour policy and we are following the “Empowerment Approach.” This will, hopefully, in time start to have an impact beyond the school and into the village and beyond as the ethos of the approach is about ensuring we help our children to regulate their own behaviour and become pro-social learners and good citizens in the world around them beyond the school gates. Our new school rules are:
-Be Ready
-Be Respectful
-Be Safe
Our School Values of Self-belief, Honesty, Respect, Excellence and Kindness remain the same and we continue to promote, celebrate and reward children showing our school values all of the time.
Volunteers
We would welcome any volunteers to come into school and listen to children read on a 1:1 basis. Basic training would be provided and we would need any volunteers to complete a short application form, have a DBS check and obtain references. If you are interested, please contact the school office on 01604 810371 or email
Community governors
We also have a vacancy for a community governor to join our supportive and dedicated governing body. Again, please speak to the school office if you are interested.
School places
We have set the dates for our open events for children who may wish to join our Reception class next September in 2024. Please see the advert and book your place on Eventbrite. We do currently have spaces in some other year groups – if you would like me to give you a tour of our school then please get in contact and I look forward to showing you around our wonderful school.
