You may have read in the local newspapers that, after many years in the pipeline, the extension for our school was finally approved by the planning committee of North Northamptonshire Council. Thanks to everyone who came to the consultation event in school and provided feedback on the plans. We are excited that this work to improve and enhance the school for the village will soon be underway!
In school, we continue to work hard to ensure we instill and embed our school values in all of the children and hope that they are excellent ambassadors for our school when out and about in the village and beyond. Our school values are:
Self-belief
Honesty
Respect
Excellence
Kindness
It would be lovely if anyone in the village spots an EBPS pupil showing these values or going “above and beyond” that you let us know so that we can share and celebrate this in our assemblies. I firmly believe there is a lot of truth in the quote, “It takes a village to raise a child” and hope that the more we can promote these values, the better citizens the children will become. You can use our website “Contact us” tab to send a message, phone the school office or even drop a note in.
Our Y3/4 tag rugby team certainly showed all of the school values when they competed in the County Finals tournament: they won two matches; drew four and only lost one game to finish joint fourth overall in the whole of Northamptonshire. We are very proud of the team for the way they played and their brilliant sporting attitude.
The outcomes of our learning this term have been many and varied! Year Four finished their DT unit of bread-making with a wonderful afternoon where our school hall was turned into a bakery – the smells and flavours were delicious! Reception children enjoyed a fantastic dinosaur walk around the village to spot the footprints and clues on their quest. Our Year One artists are finalising preparations for their art gallery for parents and carers this week.
